How It Works

Introducing The Nanny Goodnight series – the guided soundtrack to restful sleep and peaceful dreams for children. It uses proven techniques for rest and relaxation and translates them into a form that is both appropriate for and appealing to kids for both overnight sleep and naptime. The six-volume series includes one for newborns to age two, and five volumes for ages two to six.

Helps Children Awaken Rested & Relaxed

Nanny Goodnight has been tested both with moms at home and by teachers in pre-school and day care environments with stellar results. Children went to sleep faster and had less problems falling and staying asleep. Ultimately, the series is a great tool for moms, teachers and other care providers to help them get kids ready to sleep, so they'll be better rested and therefor happier and more manageable throughout the day.

It Not Only Works, It Sounds Good

The team behind the series is first rate. Multiple Grammy nominee, producer Scott Rouse, was brought in to produce and record the series ensuring the highest sound quality from real heartbeats, creeks and streams to light orchestral style strings and soothing keyboard pads. The voice of Nanny Goodnight has a true Oxford- educated British accent and warm, assuring, motherly tone to guide your child through the Four Stages of Sleep.

The Science Behind Nanny Goodnight

The series gently guides your child through the Four Stages of Sleep. In stage 1 a child's brain is in "Beta State" as Nanny Goodnight prepares her for sleep. Nanny Goodnight begins slowly... changing the excited Beta waves into slower moving, calmer more "relaxed" waves known as Alpha waves. In stage 2 as the child relaxes the brain waves slowly become Theta waves or light sleep. This is where the colorful and positive stories prepare the brain for dreaming. Stage 3 is where restful sleeping begins. Nanny Goodnight has relaxed the child enough that Theta waves become Delta waves that are associated with the deep and solid sleep of Stage 4, "Delta Sleep," where a child is renewing her energy and her spirit. And with that, Nanny Goodnight's job is done... until the next nap time or bed time... when she'll once again tell the most important thing in your life "Goodnight sleepy head..."
